Girl Scouts

JCPC welcomes the Girl Scouts!  Currently a North Fulton Junior Girl Scout Troop and a South Forsyth Cadette Troop hold their regular troop meetings at our church.  JCPC has also graciously allowed the use of the facilities for large Girl Scout events.  South Forsyth Service Unit held a movie under the stars on the ball field.  The church buildings were used for the earning of both a Silver Award and a Bronze Award, allowing girls to host badge-earning events for local Girl Scouts.

If you would like to learn more about joining the Girl Scouts, please contact Laura Andrews for information about Girl Scouts at Johns Creek Presbyterian Church   laura_gsga@bellsouth.net

Junior Troop 3004

Girl Scout Junior Troop 3004 is proud to call JCPC home.  Sixteen 4th grade/5th grade girl scouts descend on the church on Tuesday nights to work on badges, learn leadership skills, and plan troop outings.  This past year, many scouts were able to earn the 'Get Moving' Journey award which puts them in striking distance of earning the coveted Bronze Award.

The girls love camping activities and enjoy a variety of field trips throughout the year.  The scouts fund major troop activities from the winter sale of delicious Girl Scout COOKIES!  Make sure to buy some boxes next year!

The bonds of scouting are forever; in late December 2010 our 9 year old sister in scouting, Carrie Jo Conti, passed away after a very brief illness.  In her memory, the giant swing at Camp Timberidge was renamed for her.  Troop 3004 will always remember Carrie Jo with a smile!

The troop is led by leader Michelle Woods. Rising 5th grade girls interested in scouting can contact Asst. Troop leader and JCPC member Marilyn Davis for information marilyn@johnscreekcpa.com
