Advent Themes in the Four Gospels
December 3 - December 24 | 9:30 a.m. | Small Dining Room
Advent is the period in the Christian year when we think about God coming into the world as a human being in the person of Jesus of Nazareth. This study will attempt to raise challenging questions about Jesus’ origins and will explore what the Gospel portrayals of Jesus’ beginnings say about the Son of God and his meaning for the early church and for us today.
Sunday, December 10 | 11:30 a.m. | The Chapel
The JCPC Session voted to hold a Congregational Meeting at the conclusion of our worship service on December 10. The purpose of the meeting will be to hear the report from the JCPC Pastor Nominating Committee. Following the presentation of the report, members will have an opportunity to ask questions about the new pastor. A vote to accept the recommendation of the Pastor Nominating Committee with then take place. Please make plans to join us for worshop and this important meeting on December 10.
Membership Discovery Class
Sunday, December 10 | 9:00 a.m. | The Library
Each month, our Pastors, Staff and Elders set aside time to meet with people who are ready to be received as members, and/or with those seeking further information about church membership. This Discovery Class is offered on the designated dates from 9:00 – 10:15 a.m., usually in the Library, a room directly off the church’s Welcome Center. During the Discovery Class introductions are made, there is time to review information about the congregation and the Presbyterian Church (USA) and to answer individual questions. Please contact Dr. Jim Simpson, Interim Pastor, (770) 813-9009, ext. 224, or at email@example.com.
