Cub Scout Pack 1000

Pack 1000 meets every 2nd Monday of the Month at 7:00 pm at Shakerag Elementary School.

Johns Creek Presbyterian Church has sponsored Pack 1000 since 1999.   Pack 1000 has consistently seen boys come into the program and move into Boy Scouts over the years, and we currently have over 70 boys registered as Cub Scouts and continue to add boys to the Pack annually.  Our scouts and their families attend several camping trips each year (usually one each in the Fall and Spring) and a special trip during the Winter.  In the past we have gone to the USS Yorktown aircraft carrier in Charleston SC, explored the National Science Center's Fort Discovery in Augusta, spent the night at the Atlanta Aquarium, and caved at Raccoon Mountain near Chattanooga, TN.  Each year the pack holds a Pinewood Derby, Blue and Gold Banquet, a Rocket Derby, and participates in the Milton District Cub Scout Day/Twilight Camp and Scout Expo.

Pack 1000 participates in many service projects around the community.  We collect and dispose of trash and recyclable materials that we drop off at a recycling container at Shakerag Elementary School.  In the Fall, we participate in the Annual Pumpkin Smashing event where we help clean up the left over pumpkins from the Pumpkin Patch.  We have also helped in the beautification of the church grounds by spreading mulch on the church playground.  Other service projects include the Hands on Shakerag clean up day at the school, picking up trash on the sides of McGinnis Ferry Road, and cleaning up along the Suwanee Creek Greenway trails.  We are also involved in the annual Milton District canned food drive which we will deliver over 600 canned and other food items for North Fulton Community Charities.  We have boys who earned the Leave No Trace Awareness and World Conservation Awards, which teach them about proper ways to treat our environment so others can continue to enjoy it.

Cub Scout Pack 808

Pack 808 meets the 2nd Thursday of each month at 7:00 pm at Abbotts Hill Elementary School.

Johns Creek Presbyterian Church has sponsored Cub Scout Pack 808 since 2000.  We have 49 registered Scouts and meet at Abbotts Hill Elementary School.  Our Pack is proud of its ethnically, religiously and culturally diverse heritage.  Our former Webelos II Scouts can be found in several troops in North Fulton, including Troop 2000, Troop 69, Troop 10, Troop 143 and Troop 317.

We offer a full program to our Scouts.  Our families are active contributors to Friends of Scouting.  Our Scouts are also active in District and Pack level service projects, including Scouting for Food, and our Coat and Blanket drive to benefit North Fulton Charities.

We camp three times a year; once in the fall, once in the spring and we also participate in the District's Family Camping in July.  Our Big Trip is generally in April and we rotate through several trips so that our Scouts don't repeat a trip they have already taken.  Past big trips have included Sleeping with the Sharks in Gatlinburg, Overnight on the USS Yorktown in  Charleston, SC and visits to the Children's Discovery Museum in Chattanooga and to the Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville.  Our Pinewood Derby is held each January and our Blue & Gold Banquet each February.  Part of our summertime program includes a Rocket Derby in June at Abbotts Hill and we invite everyone out to watch our scouts launch the rockets they have built!

We have many dedicated adults working to support our Pack programs.  Several of these adults also assist at the District level, volunteering for Cub Scout Day Camp, the ITOLS Training Team and District Leadership Training.  In 2010, we recognized seven of our Alumni for achieving the rank of Eagle, including 6 scouts from Troop 2000.  We are proud of the role we played in moving these scouts along the trail to Scouting's highest honor.
